EAC Voting Mailer Ideation

Context

EAC, a KAIA client, needed voting mailer concepts explored at a volume traditional design sprints could not support. The team needed to evaluate fold structures, visual directions, and print feasibility before committing to a single production path.

The challenge

Mailer campaigns die in revision loops when stakeholders cannot see the folded result. Flat comps were not enough. The team needed hundreds of directions fast, plus a way to judge how panels would read in hand.

What I delivered

AI design ideation

• Hundreds of mailer design variations generated across multiple visual directions
• Organized by theme, color system, and messaging hierarchy
• Rapid iteration on headlines, hero imagery, and call-to-action placement

3D mockups and blueprints

• Fold-accurate 3D previews using the 3D Mailer Studio tool
• Panel-by-panel blueprint documents for print vendor handoff
• Bi-fold and multi-panel layout comparisons for stakeholder review

Approach

AI generation for breadth, human curation for brand fit. Winners were pushed into 3D mailer previews so the client could rotate, inspect panel joins, and approve with confidence. Production blueprints translated approved concepts into specs print teams could execute.

Results

• Compressed ideation from weeks of one-at-a-time comps to a structured review gallery
• Reduced fold-related revision cycles by showing 3D previews early

Takeaways

High-volume ideation only helps when downstream production is already in mind. AI outputs without fold logic and print specs create more decisions, not fewer.
